📺 Smart TV Setup Guide — March 2026

How to Setup IPTV on Samsung & LG Smart TV 2026

📅 Published March 2026 ⏱️ Read in 10 minutes 📺 Works on Samsung · LG · All Models
You don't need a Firestick or any extra hardware to watch IPTV on your Smart TV. Samsung and LG Smart TVs can run IPTV apps directly — and setup takes under 10 minutes. This guide covers every method for both brands, including what to do if your TV is an older model.

Before You Start — What You Need

To set up IPTV on your Smart TV, you need three things:

✅ A Samsung Smart TV (2015 or newer, running Tizen OS) or LG Smart TV (2014 or newer, running webOS)
✅ A stable internet connection — wired Ethernet is best, but Wi-Fi works fine if your signal is strong. Need speed advice? Check our buffering fixes guide for minimum speed requirements
✅ IPTV Storm credentials — either from a free 24-hour trial or an active subscription. You'll receive a server URL, username and password

💡

How to check your TV model: On Samsung, go to Settings → Support → About This TV. On LG, go to Settings → General → About This TV. If your TV says "Tizen" (Samsung) or "webOS" (LG), you're good to go.

Method 1: Samsung Smart TV Setup (Tizen OS)

1
Download IPTV Smarters Pro from the Samsung App Store

On your Samsung TV remote, press the Home button. Navigate to Apps using the on-screen menu. Select the Search icon (magnifying glass) in the top-right corner.

Type "IPTV Smarters" and press Enter. You should see IPTV Smarters Pro appear in the results. Select it and press Install.

If IPTV Smarters doesn't appear in the Samsung store for your region, search for "Xtream IPTV Player" or "Smart IPTV" — both work with IPTV Storm credentials.

2
Open the App and Select Login Method

Launch IPTV Smarters Pro from your Samsung TV's app list. On the first screen, you'll see login options. Select "Login with Xtream Codes API" — this is the method IPTV Storm uses.

You'll see three fields to fill in:
Any Name: Type anything — e.g. "IPTV Storm"
Username: Enter the username from your IPTV Storm credentials
Password: Enter your password
Server URL: Enter the server URL provided with your credentials

💡

Don't have credentials yet? Message us on WhatsApp for a free 24-hour trial — we'll send your login details in minutes. No payment required.

3
Load Channels and Start Watching

After entering your credentials, press Add User or Login. The app will connect to the IPTV Storm server and load your channel list. This takes 10–30 seconds depending on your internet speed.

Once loaded, you'll see categories: Live TV, Movies, Series and EPG (Electronic Programme Guide). Browse by category or use the search function to find specific channels.

Channels are organised by country and type — UK channels, US channels, sports, news, kids, movies and more. With IPTV Storm you get access to 18,900+ live channels and 50,000+ movies and series.

Method 2: LG Smart TV Setup (webOS)

1
Download IPTV Smarters from the LG Content Store

On your LG TV remote, press the Home button. Navigate to the LG Content Store (app store icon). Search for "IPTV Smarters" and install it.

On some LG models, IPTV Smarters may not be available in the Content Store. In that case, search for "Smart IPTV" (also called SIPTV) which works on all LG webOS TVs and supports IPTV Storm credentials.

2
Enter Your IPTV Storm Credentials

The login process is identical to Samsung — select "Xtream Codes API" login and enter your server URL, username and password from IPTV Storm.

Using Smart IPTV instead? The setup is slightly different. After installing Smart IPTV, open it and note the MAC address shown on screen. Then go to siptv.app/mylist on your phone or computer, enter the MAC address and your M3U URL from IPTV Storm. The channels will load on your TV within seconds.

3
Browse and Watch

Your channel list loads automatically. Use your LG remote to browse categories, select channels and adjust settings. The LG Magic Remote (pointer remote) makes navigation particularly smooth.

For the best picture quality, go into the app's Settings and set the video player to "Hardware Decoder" and output quality to "Auto" or "1080p". This ensures your TV processes the stream using its built-in hardware for the smoothest playback.

Older Smart TVs — What to Do If Apps Aren't Available

If your Samsung TV is pre-2015 or your LG TV is pre-2014, the built-in app store may not have IPTV apps available. You have two options:

Option 1: Sideload an IPTV app — On Samsung Tizen TVs, you can sideload apps using a USB drive or the Samsung developer tools. This is more technical and we recommend the second option for most users.

Option 2: Use a Firestick (recommended for older TVs) — Plug an Amazon Firestick into your TV's HDMI port and follow our Firestick IPTV setup guide. The Firestick Lite costs under £30 and gives any TV full IPTV capabilities with a better interface than most Smart TV apps.

Optimise Your Smart TV for the Best IPTV Experience

Once IPTV is installed, these settings will give you the best picture and performance:

Use Ethernet over Wi-Fi: Most Smart TVs have an Ethernet port on the back. A wired connection eliminates buffering caused by Wi-Fi interference. This makes the biggest difference for live sport.

Set your TV picture mode to "Standard" or "Cinema": Avoid "Vivid" or "Dynamic" modes which over-process the image and can introduce lag on live streams. Standard mode gives the most natural picture.

Disable motion smoothing: Samsung calls it "Motion Plus", LG calls it "TruMotion". Turn this off for IPTV — it adds input lag and can make live sport look unnatural. Find it in Settings → Picture → Advanced Settings.

Set DNS to Google (8.8.8.8): In your TV's network settings, manually set the DNS to 8.8.8.8 to speed up channel loading. On Samsung: Settings → General → Network → Network Status → IP Settings → DNS → set to 8.8.8.8.

Troubleshooting Common Smart TV Issues

"App not available in your region": Some IPTV apps are geo-restricted in certain countries' app stores. Try searching for alternative apps (Xtream IPTV Player, OTT Navigator, or Smart IPTV). If none are available, use a Firestick instead.

Black screen after entering credentials: Double-check your server URL — make sure it includes http:// at the beginning. Also verify your username and password have no extra spaces. Contact us on WhatsApp if the issue persists.

Channels loading slowly: This is usually a DNS issue. Change your TV's DNS to 8.8.8.8 as described above, or try 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare). Also ensure your TV software is up to date — Settings → Support → Software Update.

Buffering during live TV: Read our detailed IPTV buffering fixes guide for 7 tested solutions specific to UK broadband providers. The Ethernet switch and DNS change alone fix buffering for most Smart TV users.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Samsung Smart TVs running Tizen OS (2015 and newer) can install IPTV apps directly from the Samsung App Store. No Firestick, Android box or additional hardware is needed. Just download IPTV Smarters Pro, enter your credentials and start watching.
IPTV Smarters Pro is the most popular and reliable choice for LG Smart TVs running webOS. It supports Xtream Codes login, has a clean EPG guide and works on all LG webOS models from 2014 onwards. Smart IPTV is a good alternative if Smarters isn't available in your LG Content Store.
Samsung Smart TVs from 2015 onwards (Tizen OS) fully support IPTV apps. Older models running the legacy Smart Hub have limited app support. For those older TVs, we recommend plugging in a Firestick via HDMI — it's under £30 and gives full IPTV capability to any TV with an HDMI port.
